Kaiser Permanente Northwest Pride Scholarship



Kaiser Permanente Northwest Pride Scholarship provides scholarships to encourage members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities and their children, in northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington, to pursue careers in healthcare. The application deadline is June 30, 2009.

The Armistead Maupin Creative Writing Scholarship



The Armistead Maupin Creative Writing Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by Philip C. Smith in honor of Armistead Maupin. The purpose of the Armistead Maupin Creative Writing Scholarship Fund (hereinafter the Armistead Maupin Fund) is to encourage students whom, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, have authored material based, in large part, on LGBT themes, to develop their creative writing skills.

The Armistead Maupin Fund is administered through Equity Foundation. Students entering or pursuing post-secondary education in the liberal arts, literary arts or creative writing, at accredited colleges and universities in the Northwest of the continental United States (Oregon, Washington, Idaho), who are in need of financial assistance, are eligible to apply. The deadline for this scholarship is
June 30, 2009

Gregori Jakovina Endowment Scholarship

The Gregori Jakovina Endowment Scholarship was founded in May 2007 by Gregori Jakovina and Larry McDonald to encourage and facilitate post-secondary education in the arts for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). The Gregori Jakovina Endowment Scholarship is administered through Equity Foundation.

Gregori Jakovina Endowment  Scholarship applicants may include mid-career adults who are returning to school to pursue a new career in the arts, as well as young adults who have recently completely high school or their G.E.D. and are pursuing their education beyond the secondary level. To be eligible, individuals will be Oregon residents and need financial assistance to attain their educational goals.

Please check which scholarship you are applying for:

o The Gregori Jakovina Endowment  Scholarship is for students enrolled in the arts who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender and/or children of LGBT parents enrolled in post-secondary education. Students shall be residents of Oregon or Clark County, Washington.

o The Larry McDonald Scholarship is intended for adults in mid-life who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender who seek to make a significant change in their lives or vocations by taking classes in the arts and/or humanities.

The deadline for applications is December 31, 2009.

Linfield Good Samaritan School of Nursing Scholarship Fund

Linfield Good Samaritan School of Nursing (LGSSON) has developed a scholarship match agreement with
Equity Foundation (EF) to financially assist students who are under-represented in Oregon’s nursing workforce.  LGSSON will annually match one EF scholarship awarded to a LGSSON student with an annual maximum of $5,000.


The scholarship award will be renewable for up to three years, when appropriate.  Eligible students will meet all Equity Foundation Scholarship requirements and be enrolled in the Linfield Good Samaritan School of Nursing making satisfactory academic progress.
