Mark your calendars! On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
We’re celebrating another great year at Equity Foundation. Our introduction of a membership program last fall brought us over 100 new donors. Those members participated in our 2014 grants cycle and helped us support organizations working on LGBTQ issues across Oregon. Equity funded over a dozen small grants, 40% of those to rural community organizations. Organizations like the Youth Empowerment Symposium in Eugene, whose goals are to end gender and sexual violence. And Lotus Rising Project in Medford, created by youth who want to make a positive impact on social change.
There are dozens more small, chronically underfunded organizations throughout Oregon who need our help. On this #GivingTuesday, renew your membership or become a member of Equity Foundation to ensure we can bring lived equality to rural communities. Your gift of membership at any level ensures that we can continue funding the work in our community that supports equality. It also ensures that we can steadily build our endowment to a level that supports our community long after we are gone.
Equity Foundation could not do any of this work without our members and donors. There is no other foundation in the state dedicated to providing support to small organizations focused of the work of LGBTQ equality and you make it possible.
