Equity Supports All 2015 Grant Applicants

Equity Foundation is proud to announce our 2015 grant awardees. This year we received 20 applications and directed our funds to non-profits with annual budgets of $500,000 or less that have an organizational focus on LGBTQ equality for Oregonians.

“This year, we were able to fully fund nine grant applicants that range from a small community center for LGBTQ kids in Medford to HIV/AIDS home care in Eugene,” said Karol Collymore, executive director at Equity. “We also partially funded the remaining 11 applicants. It’s the first time in many years we were able to support every organization that applied for funding.”

Of the grants awarded, a quarter of the money will go outside of Portland. Equity will give out over $50,000 in grant funds this month. Cascade AIDS Project’s Peter Parisot shared their excitement about their grant. “We cannot express how thankful we are to the Equity Foundation for this generous grant to fund Cascade AIDS Project’s supportive housing programs.  Because of Equity Foundation, more people will be able to find stable housing and, as a result, will achieve better health outcomes in the treatment of their HIV.  Equity Foundation understands that housing is healthcare and is investing to make a real difference in our community.”
