As we come to the end of another successful year, we want to thank those who have contributed to our success and ask if you will help us once again. The holiday season is the perfect time to show those around you how much you care. A donation to Equity Foundation means that your charitable giving dollars stretch across Oregon to fund programs that systematically work to eradicate prejudice against gender and sexual minorities and provide services that offer life-altering care for marginalized individuals.
Your gift means that grants can continue to be provided to organizations like Parents, Families, & Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) who were able to provide training and preventative care programs in schools where teens are bullied so that vulnerable youth do not feel that suicide is their only option to escape harassment. A gift means that Equity Foundation can continue to provide grants to organizations like Boys and Girls Aid Society, which works to find safe and loving homes for children who have been neglected, abused or abandoned by their families after coming out to their parents.
Please consider sharing a tax-deductible donation so we can continue to create positive change in our community! Your gift is an investment that creates a better future for our society.
- Last fiscal year Equity Foundation distributed more than $284,000 in grants and college scholarships!
- Because our scholarship funds provided $57,000 in scholarships, 29 Oregon LGBT students were able to continue their pursuit of a college degree.
- $226,292 was distributed to 171 community-based organizations.
- Equity Foundation brought national attention to Aflac’s refusal to provide domestic partner benefits in their employees’ benefits package. Our hope was that Aflac would embrace same-sex domestic partnership benefits for its employees and foster a more diverse corporate culture. It did not, so Equity liquidated all assets invested in the company.
Please consider making a donation to Equity today! If you donate before December 31, you will be able to deduct the donation from your 2012 taxes.
It’s all about love!
